Elastics can be braided, woven(ribbed) or knitted.
* Braided elastics are best used inside casings as they narrow when stretched and loose their strength and shape when pierced or stitched through. Great for lightweight fabrics for sleeve hems, swimwear and leg bands. Has distinctive parallel bands.
* Knitted elastics are soft and strong, which makes them good for most clothing. Lightweight, it does not narrow or curl when stretched and does not loose it's strength if pierced. However, it is not non-roll. It can be sewn directly onto the fabric or put inside a casing.
* Woven or ribbed elastics are thicker and stronger, so ideal to use where strength is needed (ie waistbands) or heavy weight apparel and furnishing fabrics. It can be sewn directly onto the fabric or put inside a casing. It doesn't narrow when stretched.
Store out of direct sunlight and heat as these can cause elastic to degrade.
Warm gentle machine wash. Do not bleach or iron. Warm tumble dry.
